Deep Vein Thrombosis Caused by Leiomyosarcoma of Superficial Femoral Vein

Abstract

Leiomyosarcoma of lower extremity is very rare disease and prognosis of this disease is poor. When this disease is involved intraluminally at the vein, patient complain leg swelling, pain, heaviness. This disease mimic the symptoms of
Deep vein thrombosis. We experienced a Deep vein thrombosis caused by Leiomyosarcoma of superficial femoral vein. Patient’s symptoms were not relieved with anticoagulant. Three months later, hard mass was palpated at Rt inguinal area.
We perfomed a surgery. Excisinal mass was turned out to be a Leiomyosarcoma of superficial femoral vein.
